
According to the outputs of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference, Yemen was divided in 2014 into six federal self governed provinces: ‘Azal, Al-Janad, Tihama, Hadhramaut, Saba, and Aden. Two of them are in the south and four provinces are in the north.

Consists of four states: Sa’dah, Sana’a, ‘Amran, Dhamar
- province Al-Janad
Consists of two states: Ta’izz and Ibb
- province Tihama
Consists of four states Al Hudaydah, Raymah, Al Mahwit and Hajjah
- province Hadramaut
Consists of four states: Hadramaut, Shabwah, Al Mahrah and Socotra
- province Saba’
Consists of three states: Ma’rib, Al Jawf and Al Bayda’
- province Aden
Consists of four states: Aden, Abyan, Lahij and Ad Dali’
